Steve Hawkins is the founder and CEO of LongPoint ETFs. With almost four decades of experience within the investment industry, Steve is known for his role in the proliferation of ETFs in Canada, bringing many first-of-their-kind ETFs to the market. Steve spearheaded the launch of the world’s first marijuana ETF, the world’s first global equity ETF driven by artificial intelligence, and Canada’s first robotics and automation ETF.
As an innovative ETF thought leader and highly regarded ETF and capital markets expert, he is frequently quoted in the news media and was recognized as CEO of the Year at the 2018 and 2022 Wealth Professional Awards.
Prior to establishing LongPoint ETFs, which was Canada’s fastest-growing ETF provider in 2025, Steve was the President and CEO of Horizons ETFs Management (Canada) from 1995 to 2022.
