Morrison Financial Mortgage Corporation is one of Canada’s longest-standing private finance firms. Over its 37 years in business, the firm has provided more than $1.6B in asset-based financing through private and institutional treasury and delivered consistent returns to its investors.
In 2020, Morrison Financial launched our Senior and Junior Mortgage Income Funds as investment vehicles for everyday investors to participate in the company’s mortgage portfolio. The Funds are invested in a diversified portfolio of short-term loans for various purposes including but not limited to construction, development, and bridge. Our goal is to provide a secure and stable source of passive income with superior risk-adjusted return for our investors, with capital preservation as the main credit consideration.

After beginning his career as a lawyer, David founded Morrison Financial Mortgage Corporation in 1987 to provide tailored asset-based financing to businesses. Since then, the firm has provided more than $1.6B in financing and has established strong relationships with private and institutional investors alike. David has been appointed a member of the Ontario Securities Commission’s Investment Funds Technical Advisory Committee, which advises on challenges and opportunities in the investment funds product regulatory regime. He also serves on the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario’s Mortgage Sector Technical Advisory Committee to support consumer protection, drive innovation, and increase regulatory efficiency in the sector.
David enjoys every aspect of his role, from being a member of the company’s credit committee, to planning and steering his company’s development, and watching the team grow.
