Wuxi Micro Research Precision Press-Parts will become the exclusive supplier of iron motor cores to Japan’s Nissan Motors through an order placed by the Chinese unit of German multinational engineering firm Robert Bosch.

United Automotive Electronic Systems develops drive motor platforms for Nissan, Wuxi Longsheng Technology, Wuxi Micro’s parent company, said today. Under the deal, Micro Research will also supply Volkswagen Group’s Modular Electrification Toolkit, Chinese new energy vehicle startup Nio and other leading foreign and domestic electric carmakers.

This is the Wuxi-based mold products maker’s second deal with Shanghai-based UAES. In May, the firm became motor core supplier to another of its projects, providing the iron parts to Volkswagen, Guangzhou Automobile Group, Nio and others.

Motor cores are an essential part of drive motors. They are used to increase the magnetic flux to achieve maximum conversion of electromagnetic power.

Longsheng Technology’s stock price [SHE:300680] rose 1.3 percent today to close at CNY19.30 (USD2.75) each.
