Momenta Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:MNTA) commences a $200M public offering of common stock. Price, volume and terms have yet to be announced.
Momenta Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:MNTA) discloses that it has agreed to pay $35M to Nashville General Hospital to settle a 2015 class action lawsuit accusing it of colluding with Novartis (NYSE:NVS) Sandoz to prevent Amphastar Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:AMPH) from selling a generic version of anticoagulant Lovenox (enoxaparin sodium injection).
The settlement agreement is subject to court review.
New York Life Insurance is in negotiations to buy a unit from Cigna (CI -3%) that sells non-medical insurance products to employers in a deal that could be valued at as much as $6B, WSJ reports.
Potential buyers including MetLife (MET -0.6%) and Sun Life Financial (SLF +1%) also are vying for company, but New York Life recently emerged as the leading contender, according to the report, which says Cigna hopes to reach a deal by year-end.
Cigna is said to have been seeking a buyer for its business that sells life, accident and disability income insurance to employers for their workers, a move that would help the company focus on its core business.
Endo International’s (NASDAQ:ENDP) one of the operating companies, Par Pharmaceutical, has received approval for and launched generic Afinitor (everolimus) 2.5 mg, 5 mg and 7 mg tablets.
According to IQVIA, sales for Afinitor 2.5 mg, 5mg and 7mg tablets were ~$412M over the last four quarters.
Afinitor is a registered trademark of Novartis AG.
Shares are up 2% premarket.
Sanofi (NASDAQ:SNY) and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:REGN) have mutually agreed to revamp their antibody collaboration for Kevzara (sarilumab) and Praluent (alirocumab) into a royalty-based deal.
Under the terms of the new agreement, Sanofi will gain exclusive global rights to Kevzara and exclusive ex-U.S. rights to Praluent (Regeneron will own exclusive U.S. rights). Each party will be solely responsible for development and commercialization costs in their respective territories.
The changes should be finalized next quarter.
The terms of their Dupixent collaboration will remain as is.
