Titan Mining Corporation (TSX: TI; OTCQB: TIMCF) announced Monday that over 50% of equipment for its Kilbourne graphite processing facility has been delivered. The company aims to become America’s first fully integrated graphite producer in over seven decades through development at its wholly owned subsidiary, Empire State Mines, in New York.

Construction progress has advanced with core equipment, including the ball mill, now on-site. Installation is scheduled to commence in August 2025, targeting commissioning in Q4 2025. Over 90% of the equipment is sourced from North America—primarily the United States—strengthening domestic manufacturing capabilities. All key operating permits have been secured, with the first batch of U.S.-sourced and processed graphite slated for delivery in Q4 2025. Sales qualification is anticipated in Q1 2026.

Discovered in 2023, the Kilbourne deposit possesses significant expansion potential to address long-term U.S. demand for flake graphite. Presently, Northern Graphite’s Lac des Iles in Quebec stands as North America’s sole operational graphite mine. The project will deliver tariff-free U.S. graphite amid tightening global trade restrictions, enabling Titan to fill a 70-year gap in domestic integrated graphite production spanning mining to end products.

Graphite remains critical for batteries, semiconductors, and aerospace sectors. China escalated export controls in 2023, adding natural flake and spherical graphite to its restricted list effective December 2024. Concurrently, the U.S. imposed a 93.5% anti-dumping duty on Chinese graphite in July 2025, compounding with existing tariffs to push effective rates to 160%.

CEO Don Taylor stated that graphite is a critical material absent from US production for decades. Kilbourne is pivotal to restoring domestic capability – the company will deliver fully Made in America natural graphite in 2025. President Rita Adiani added that amid rising import tariffs, our US-sourced equipment and infrastructure offer industrial clients a secure alternative.
