Beijing Water Business Doctor Co. (WBD) [SHE:300055] will collaborate with three domestic firms to promote domestic waste power generation projects in five locations in Thailand.

The company has signed separate cooperation framework agreements with the three Thai companies, the industrial sewage treatment said in a statement yesterday.

The three Thai companies are Tammrat Water-to-Energy Co., Sanerise Development Co. and Captain Holding (Thailand), per the statement.

Among these five undertakings, the domestic waste treatment capacity for each of the four projects in Nakhon Si Thammarat province (WBD holds 80 percent stake), Chiang Mai province (WBD holds 85 percent stake), Lamphun province (WBD holds 85 percent stake) and Samut Sakhon province (WBD holds 80 percent stake) is 500 tons per day and power generation capacity for each is 9.9 megawatts.

The domestic waste treatment capacity of the project in Nakhon Pathom province (WBD holds 80 percent stake) is 200 tons per day, but the statement did not disclose the project’s power-generation capacity.

The three Thai partners hold all the remaining shares in the five projects, according to the statement.

Under the agreement, the Thai partners will be responsible for applying for project approvals, will seek proper locations, take responsibility for surveying public opinion in surrounding areas, conducting environmental impact assessments and negotiating power supply agreements with Thailand’s national energy authorities, the statement added.

Garbage disposal fees in the domestic waste power generation projects are about USD9 (CNY60) to CNY120 per ton. Based on the current exchange rate, the electricity price in Thailand is about CNY1.12 per kilowatt hour, which is higher than China’s, so these projects offer greater profitability, the statement said.
