China’s Technology Giants Set Up ‘Internet Transportation Industry Innovation Alliance’

China’s internet giants and telecom companies have set up “China Internet Transportation Industry Innovation Alliance” in Guangzhou, South China’s Guangdong province, to promote scientific and technological achievements in the field of transportation. The Innovation Alliance, unveiled yesterday, has more than 50 members including China transport telecommunications & information center of the ministry of transport, Tencent Holdings Ltd. [HKG:0700] and Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. [NYSE:BABA], reported chinanews.com.

It is the only industrial alliance of the internet transportation industry in the Chinese mainland. and in the next step, the alliance will promote application of scientific and technological achievements in the field of internet transportation to daily life through China’s “Internet+ Transportation Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.”

As “internet+” transportation developed rapidly, innovative and technological projects in transportation represented by shared bike, shared car, the Internet of Vehicles and automatic driving technology have been widely applied in daily life. The alliance aims to promote similar projects that could be used in real life to support the development of China’s innovative transportation industry.
