China’s ministry of industry and information technology has conducted a special research on setting up a national blockchain and distributed accounting technology standardization technical committee, it said on its website. The move may be an indication that China is prepared for blockchain standardization.
The ministry’s department of information and software service industry carried out the special research on the committee originally proposed by China electronics standardization institute, according to the information on the ministry website.
It aims to promote the formation of a complete blockchain standard system and to address issues related to International Organization for Standardization’s ISO/TC 307, the technical committee established to develop international blockchain standards.
Previously, international organizations such as ISO, the International Telecommunication Union, or ITU, and the World Wide Web Consortium have successively carried out blockchain standardization.
