More than 2,000 representatives from over 600 SMEs and international companies attended the first Alibaba Global Course in Singapore yesterday to learn more about e-commerce and future trends, and to digitize and diversify their businesses, Singaporean newspaper Lianhe Zaobao reported.

Participants will learn to innovate customer experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning and to combine consumer-to-business (C2B) with automation models, as well as to generally learn more about future retail trends.

The AGC is offered by Alibaba Business School and organized by Taobao University in partnership with Nanyang Polytechnic’s Singapore Institute of Retail Studies (SIRS), SkillsFuture Singapore, National Trades Union Congress and StarHub.

Meanwhile, Taobao University and SIRS will extend their partnership to provide Singapore retailers with a series of e-commerce training courses. The two sides signed the partnership two years ago and will extend it for another 30 months to enhance the digital capability of local businesses and equip them with knowledge of the latest industry developments.
