Suzhou Victory Precision Manufacture Co., which makes mechanical modules for televisions and their stands, has agreed to take over the Advancel trademark owned by Japan’s Taiyo Kika Ltd for JPY120 million (USD1.1 million).
Suzhou Victory unit Suzhou Fuqiang Jianeng Precision Machinery Co. signed the deal with Taiyo Kikai on April 24, the parent company said in a statement yesterday. The purchase will include the Advancel trademark, which is registered in China, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea; four sets of technical equipment; technical materials; operating instructions; mechanical and electric drawings; and software.
The brand has had a solid reputation in the liquid-crystal display and organic light-emitting diode panel manufacturing industry for nearly 30 years, and has a stable supply of quality clients in the international market, the statement added. The deal will help Suzhou Victory expand research and manufacturing in the field and quickly develop resources to better serve clients and become more competitive.
Taiyo Kikai stopped using the trademark the same day, and will provide technical consulting services for a year after shipping the equipment.
