Chinese firm Kuang-Chi Technologies has won its first order from the country’s military sector and will provide stealth technologies for vessels through a CNY20.4 million (USD3 million) deal.

The Shenzhen-based firm did not reveal further details in a statement though the contract includes clear terms on product delivery, price, quality requirements, technical standards and other issues.

The contract marks a breakthrough for the development of metamaterial equipment for stealth technology used on ships. The technology changes the direction of microwaves to prevent objects from being detected.
