Seabridge Gold Inc. (TSX: SEA) (NYSE: SA) (Seabridge) today reached another milestone for its KSM project located in northwestern British Columbia, entering a co-operation and impact benefits agreement with the Tahltan Nation to continue working together on the project.

Seabridge’s KSM project is considered one of the largest undeveloped gold projects in the world in terms of reserves. The mine has already been granted environmental approvals at both the federal and provincial levels, and it is expected to operate for more than 50 years.

The latest preliminary feasibility study (PFS) shows that proven and probable reserves at KSM are estimated at 38.8 million ounces of gold.

The Tahltan Nation members voted 77.8% in favour of today’s co-operative agreement. Tahltan’s territory includes 70% of BC’s Golden Triangle, home to three of BC’s 19 operating mines, or approximately 25% of the province’s exploration activities by expenditure.

The company believes the agreement provides a long-term partnership between the project and the Tahltan Nation, says Seabridge CEO Rudi Fronk.

Aside from KSM, the company is also focused on the Iskut property in BC, as well as the Courageous Lake and Snowstorm properties in Northwest Territories, Canada, and Nevada, USA, respectively.
