Aquestive Therapeutics (NASDAQ:AQST) is up 14.3% after hours following FDA approval for Exservan, its riluzole oral film for patients with ALS.

The Pdufa date was Nov. 30.

The product’s recommended dosage is 50 mg twice daily.

WuXi Vaccines to Build a $240M manufacturing facility in Ireland

WuXi Biologics (OTCPK:WXXWY +1.5%) to invest $240M and build a new vaccine manufacturing facility in Ireland.

The new vaccine manufacturing facility, includes drug substance and drug product manufacturing, as well as Quality Control labs and is expected to add ~200 employees

Alexion Pharmaceuticals gains approval for Soliris in Japan

Alexion Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:ALXN) says Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare has approved the extension of the current marketing authorization of Soliris (eculizumab) for the prevention of relapse in patients with NMOSD.

The company says Soliris is the only approved medication in Japan for NMOSD.

The approval of Soliris was based on comprehensive results from the Phase 3 randomized, double-blind placebo controlled Prevent trial and a long-term extension study which is still underway.

AdaptHealth to acquire Patient Care Solutions business from McKesson

AdaptHealth (NASDAQ:AHCO) has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the Patient Care Solutions business from McKesson Corporation (NYSE:MCK).

The total investment, including restructuring costs until the business is fully integrated on AdaptHealth’s platform in 2H20, is expected to be ~$30M.

PCS generated net revenues of ~$134M (Oct. 31, 2019. TTM).

In connection with the acquisition, AdaptHealth will enter into a supply and distribution agreement with MCK with respect to PCS’s HME service lines.

The proposed transaction is expected to close in Dec. 2019, subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions.

Zoetis buys network of veterinary reference labs

Zoetis (NYSE:ZTS) acquires ZNLabs, a full-service veterinary clinical reference laboratory company with a network of labs across the U.S.

Zoetis entered reference lab services with its acquisition of Phoenix Lab last month.

Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

“We plan to grow further in this space through a mixture of small, business development activities combined with organic expansions in key markets in the coming years,” said Kristin Peck, executive vice president and group president, U.S. Operations, Business Development Strategy for Zoetis.
