China to Invest More in AR, VR Than Any Other Country Next Year, IDC Says

China is set to invest USD5.76 billion in augmented reality and virtual reality next year, accounting for 30 percent of the world’s spending on the technologies, according to the latest forecast from International Data Corporation.

Global investment in the two technologies will jump 78.5 percent to USD18.8 billion in 2020 from this year, market intelligence firm IDC said in its Worldwide Semiannual Augmented and Virtual Reality Spending Guide published today. The US is projected to invest USD5.1 billion, ranking it second.
