Microsoft seizes domains related to customer cyberattacks

Last December, Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) discovered a “sophisticated” phishing scheme designed to compromise Microsoft customer accounts.

The company blocked the activity and disabled the malicious app behind the attacks, which targeted customers in 62 countries. .

The attackers recently returned with COVID-19 lures, including information about pandemic-related bonuses. Users who clicked on the link were taken to a malicious web application.

Microsoft has now received a court order allowing the tech giant to seize control of the key web domains used in the attacks.

The company warns that users should remain on the lookout for illegitimate messages and enable two-factor authentication for added security.

Nokia close to losing major Verizon contract – Rosenblatt

Verizon (VZ -0.4%) is close to replacing Nokia (NOK -2.0%) with Samsung (OTC:SSNNF, OTC:SSNLF) for its 5G radio access network needs, according to Rosenblatt analyst Ryan Koontz.

Koontz thinks Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) will maintain its roughly 50% Verizon supplier share, while Samsung “leapfrogs NOK to secure one of the largest new supplier telecom contracts in many years.”

The analyst estimates the contract at $1.5B per year for five to seven years.

Koontz notes that Nokia suppliers like CommScope (COMM -4.3%) could “see setbacks in the VZ opportunity.”

Apple price target raised despite forecast concern

Ahead of the fall’s 5G iPhone launch, Raymond James raises Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) price target from $340 to $400 and maintains an Outperform rating.

The firm says that investors will look to 2021 for the tech giant’s normalized earnings power since that will be after the pandemic’s impact and a full year of the 5G products.

Raymond James does see potential risks to the upcoming Q4 guidance due to the pandemic.

Apple is expected to report fiscal Q3 earnings on July 29. Consensus estimates see $51.81B in revenue and $2.03 EPS.

Apple shares are up 0.5% to $375.76.

Zoom, ServiceNow form Phone-focused partnership

Under the partnership, Zoom Video (NASDAQ:ZM) will use ServiceNow’s (NYSE:NOW) Now Platform to support its customer service operations and new hardware as a service business model.

ServiceNow will replace its legacy hardware phone system with Zoom Phone.

Financial terms weren’t disclosed.

DocuSign acquires Liveoak Technologies for $38M

The all-stock acquisition of the virtual customer engagement platform will accelerate the launch of DocuSign (NASDAQ:DOCU) Notary, which enables notarized transactions via video.

DocuSign Notary is slated for early-access availability later this summer.

DocuSign will continue offering Liveoak’s platform for remotely completing other “assisted agreements” like virtual inspections and contract signing.

Liveoak Technologies and DocuSign had an existing partnership that integrated DOCU’s eSignature into the Liveoak platform.
