Apple (AAPL +0.9%) will release its original film The Banker to theaters on March 6. The film will launch on Apple TV+ on March 20.
The film was originally scheduled for a January release but was pulled for review after family members of a man featured in the film came forward with abuse allegations.
Apple TV+ statement: “We wanted to take the time to understand the situation at hand — and after reviewing the information available to us, including documentation of the filmmakers’ research, we’ve decided to make this important and enlightening film available to viewers.”
CarGurus acquires Autolist
CarGurus (NASDAQ:CARG) has acquired San Francisco-based auto shopping platform Autolist.
Terms weren’t disclosed. It plans to operate Autolist as a stand-alone brand and website.
It intends to use the deal to stretch out its lead in the space: CarGurus says it has more than three times the consumer traffic of its nearest competitor.
Autolist has more than 1.3M unique monthly visitors on its website, and nearly 400,000 unique monthly visitors to its iOS/Android apps.
AMD hires Intel vet to manage server unit
AMD (NASDAQ:AMD) hires Daniel McNamara as SVP and GM of the Server Business Unit.
McNamara most recently served as the president and GM of Intel’s Network and Custom Logic Group.
Leidos receives $110M U.S. Army contract
Leidos (NYSE:LDOS) announces receiving the Common Driver Trainer Virtual Product Line contract from the U.S. Army.
The company will provide tactical refresh and concurrency hardware/software upgrade capabilities to the Army’s CDT systems.
Leidos will also provide the Marine Corps with a full replacement of the existing operator driver simulations.
The single-award contract has a five-year base period, two one-year options, and a ceiling value of $110M.
Vonage teams up on conversational AI
Vonage (NASDAQ:VG) is partnering with Artificial Solutions to work on conversational AI.
The two have introduced a new connector integrating the Teneo platform into Vonage’s APIs. That will allow for easier deployment of conversational AI applications by Teneo customers.
That will make it easier to manage multiple channels (such as WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Viber, Voice or SMS) from a single platform, they say.
