A subsidiary under Anhui Anke Biotechnology Group has earned approval from the US Food & Drug Administration to sell a rinse-free hand sanitizer in the United States.

Anhui Anke Yuliangqing Pharmaceutical, a unit making and selling medicines and medical devices, got permission to start selling the sanitizer yesterday, the parent company said in a statement today.

The FDA go-ahead should help boost sales of the product in international markets, Anke Biotech said, though shares in the company [SHE:300009] slipped 2.53 percent to CNY14.71 (USD2.06) today, falling faster than the Shenzhen benchmark.

Anke set up the Yuliangqing brand in 1739 and it was recognized by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce as one of the first China Time-Honored Brands. Anke Biotech itself researches cell and genetic engineering products, precision medicine and other medical technologies.
