Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) plans to open the data center once it receives approval from the Overseas Investment Office.
The new addition will bring Microsoft up to 60 data center regions covering 140 countries.
Yesterday, the tech giant announced plans to invest $1B to open a data center in Poland with domestic cloud provider Chmura Krajowa.
In the recent FQ3 report, Microsoft’s Azure cloud revenue grew 59% Y/Y.
Opening a data center in a region can also help Microsoft promote Office 365 and Dynamics 365 usage.
Amazon’s (NASDAQ:AMZN) entry-level Ring Video Doorbell gains 1080p improved night vision, motion zones, and an accessory solar charger.
The $99 Video Doorbell is available for pre-order now with shipments starting on June 3. The framing Solar Charger will release in late July for $49.
Ring models account for about 40% of all video doorbells used in the United States, according to Strategy Analytics data from February.
Amazon purchased Ring for $1B in 2018.
Peacock, the new streaming service from NBCUniversal (CMCSA -1.4%), will be available on Apple (AAPL +1.5%) devices at its July 15 launch.
That includes full integration on iPhone, iPad, (the remaining) iPod Touches, Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD. Customers can use Siri to search for Peacock content.
At launch the service will offer a free tier with more than 7,500 hours of content; it will also feature Peacock Premium ($4.99/month, more than 15,000 hours) and that can be upgraded to ad-free for another $5/month.
Peacock’s early preview rolled out to existing Xfinity X1 and Flex customers for free last month.
Digital promotions company Quotient (QUOT -7.1%) has a partnership with same-day delivery firm Shipt, to launch digital coupons through Shipt’s site and app.
That will enable Shipt to offer national manufacturers’ coupons from consumer brands including Bayer HealthCare, Kimberly-Clark, Colgate-Palmolive, and Johnson & Johnson during a time of dramatic increase in online grocery delivery, the companies say.
Quotient is tapping a Shipt network that includes 90-plus retailers across more than 5,000 cities.
