Tencent (OTCPK:TCEHY,OTCPK:TCTZF) has purchased a 5% stake in the Australian buy-now, pay-later firm.
The stake is worth about $251.6M, based on Afterpay’s closing price today.
Earlier this year, Tencent said it planned to focus more on smart retail and payment platforms.
Afterpay has 6.1M active customers and 40,000 active merchants globally.
According to Bloomberg sources, Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) is in talks to purchase the UK-based provider of robotic process automation solutions.
If a final decision is made, the deal could be announced in the coming weeks.
The sources didn’t disclose any potential terms of the deal.
Softomotive, which raised $25M in private funding, sells its software to clients in the healthcare, banking, insurance, and telecom industries.
Last November, Microsoft made robotic process automation available in Microsoft Power Automate, its automated workflow solution.
Citing antitrust opposition in Britain, Sabre (NASDAQ:SABR) and Farelogix have called off their $360M merger.
Last month, the U.K.’s competition authority blocked the deal, saying it would hurt innovation and lead to a fee increase.
In 2019, the U.S. Justice Department attempted to fight the merger in court but lost its case.
DocuSign (NASDAQ:DOCU) closes its $188M all-cash acquisition of the analytics and machine learning application provider.
The Seal Software purchase was first announced in February with an H1 closing date.
Airbnb (AIRB) will offer guests full refunds for coronavirus-impacted reservations booked before March 15 with check-ins up to June 15.
Under its Extenuating Circumstances policy, Airbnb previously offered refunds if booked on or before March 14 with check-ins through May 31.
Eligible hosts and guests can cancel without charge or penalties.
