“It’s likely the most powerful Tiger Lake CPU available, which would make it equivalent to the best PC mobile chip the company currently offers: the Core i7 1065G7,” Martin writes.

The new chip reportedly has base frequency of 2.99GHz and performance of 4.8GHz vs. the Ice Lake’s 1.3GHz and 3.9GHz. Specs aren’t officially confirmed, according to Tom’s Guide.

Similarly, specs on Nvidia’s (NASDAQ:NVDA) GeForce RTX and RTX 3090 graphic cards have also leaked, Techradar reports.

“The GPUs are built on 7nm and Gainward’s 3080 and 3090 have a 2.7-slot design with three fans,” according to Techradar’s Darren Allan.

NVDA rises 0.8% in premarket trading.

RTX 3090 has 5,248 CUDA cores, 24GB of GDDR6X video memory with speed of 19.5Gbps and power consumption at 350W, according to the reports.

RTX 3080 has 4,352 CUDA cores, 10GB of GDDR6X VRAM (at 19Gbps) and 320W power consumption.

Netflix teases free programs for nonsubscribers

In its latest promotion, Netflix (NFLX +0.3%) is offering nonsubscribers a taste of some of its more popular original content, including the hit series Stranger Things and Love is Blind, and original films Bird Box and Murder Mystery.

A new free section of its website doesn’t have a wide selection – but the offerings run ad-free just as they are on the subscriber site.

Netflix says the selection may change from time to time. And the offering is differentiated from a 30-day free trial that users can get upon signup.

Meanwhile, J.P. Morgan reiterated its Overweight rating on Netflix. Daily active users and downloads are slowing down in Q3, as expected, but the trends appear to be stabilizing after the pandemic volatility.

The firm has a price target of $625, implying 19% upside.

Amazon Prime delivery drones cleared to fly – CNBC

Amazon (AMZN +2.2%) gets approval from the Federal Aviation Administration to operate its fleet of Prime Air delivery drones, the FAA said today, allowing the ecommerce giant to expand autonomous packaged delivery, CNBC reports.

The company said it will use the FAA certification to begin testing customer deliveries.

“We will continue to develop and refine our technology to fully integrate delivery drones into the airspace, and work closely with the FAA and other regulators around the world to realize our vision of 30 minute delivery,” said David Carbon, Amazon vice president of Prime Air, in a statement.

Amazon started testing drones for delivery in 2018, with the target of delivering packages to customers in 30 minutes or less.

But Amazon isn’t the only one working on expanding commercial drone delivery. In April, Alphabet-owned Wing became the first drone delivery company to get FAA approval for commercial deliveries in the U.S.

AT&T not talking to Dish about DirecTV combo – CNBC

AT&T (T +0.1%) isn’t talking to Dish Network (DISH +4.4%) about a potential combination with its DirecTV business, CNBC reports.

New talk about a new sale effort for DirecTV has heightened speculation about Dish being involved (and Dish shares are currently at session highs), but David Faber says his sources describe “no way” that AT&T will negotiate with Dish.

However, if DirecTV is bought by private equity, the buyers could then separately approach Dish’s Charlie Ergen about a possible tie-up.

AT&T is looking to have a deal signed on the unit by the end of the year, Faber says.

AT&T paid $49B for DirecTV in 2015; a sale might draw $20B now.
